palestine solidarity committee - seattle

Welcome to the Palestine Solidarity Committee's web site.

This site provides listings for current Seattle-area events related to Palestinian human rights and justice and peace in Israel/Palestine, and links to other sites concerned with peace and justice in the Middle East. We also provide introductory information about history and the current situation in the region.

PSC supports all Palestinians in their struggle for the fundamental right of self-determination. We work for an end to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, and for the establishment of an independent, democratic Palestine. PSC develops and presents educational outreach programs focusing on human rights issues in Palestine and Israel. The goal of our presentations is to stimulate informed dialogue and promote changes in US policy toward the Middle East.

Events in the Seattle Area
Event Highlights

Marching for Freedom:  Please join Palestine Solidarity Committee in marching for freedom for Native American political prisoner, Leonard Peltier, Saturday February 4 in Tacoma.

The struggle for Palestinian rights is part of a worldwide struggle for indigenous peoples’ rights, and Palestine Solidarity Committee has recently decided as a group to become more involved in  local Native American struggles for justice and self-determination.  While there are many ways to support indigenous peoples’ rights, PSC will begin to focus collective work in this area by participating in and encouraging turnout for two annual events in our region: the Indigenous Peoples Day march and rally every October in Blaine WA, and the Tacoma Leonard Peltier Defense Committee’s annual march on the occasion of Leonard’s birthday in early February.

While this is a small step, we hope you can take it with us.  If you are interested in carpooling with PSC to Tacoma on February 4, please contact
palestinejustice@aol.com.

For background and updates about Leonard Peltier and his current legal struggle visit http://www.freepeltier.org/peltier_faq.htm
